Macramé is an ancient weaving method. Without any knitting tools, it can be made into patterns and works by repeating various "knot" patterns with both hands. As each piece is handmade, small differences may occur.
Macramé originated from Arabic in the 13th century – "migramah" means weaver. At that time, it referred to the decorative fabric worn by camels and horses.
