The Funny B-Pack bag is made of recycled polyester in the Laine pattern. The lightweight bag has handles and adjustable shoulder straps. It closes with a zipper, and it has a zipper pocket on the inside. The Unikko pattern piece at the front is made from upcycled cotton canvas printed in Helsinki. The raw-edged piece of fabric has the words “Kioski Marimekko” printed on it.
This product includes leftover cotton fabric from our own printing mill. Pieces are cut using the whole width of the fabric, and therefore their appearance may vary slightly. Each item is unique. The main material of this product is made of 100% recycled polyester.
Annika Rimala had originally trained as a graphic designer, so it’s no surprise that her patterns reflect a strong sense of graphic awareness. This is perfectly exemplified by the impressive Laine (wave) design.
Marimekko’s famous poppy pattern Unikko was born in 1964 in a time when the design house’s collections featured mostly abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting from this organic theme and designed an entire range of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.
