Iconic stripes with vivid brushstrokes

In Marimekko’s spring/summer 2020 collection, vibrant flowers meet iconic stripes. The Piccolo pattern was painted by Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi in 1953. 

Marimekko 的2020春夏系列由亮麗的花朵與經典條紋交織而成；而Piccolo印花是設計師Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi於1953年的創作成果。

In our spring/summer 2020 collection, vibrant flowers meet iconic stripes, and the focus is on femininity and the full bloom of summer. 

Marimekko 的2020春夏系列由亮麗的花朵與經典條紋交織而成，希望展現女性的動人魅力及歌頌盛夏的生命力。

In the pattern, overlapping adjacent colors create a third intermediate shade. When other companies were trying to avoid this kind of ‘fault’, Marimekko made it part of the design. Piccolo has been in continuous production since 1953. Over the years, we have created as many as 2,500 imaginative color combinations. 

Piccolo印花由相鄰色彩層疊交織成第三種色調而誕生，這是一種當時其他品牌避免使用的創作方法，而鼓勵創作自由的Marimekko突破地把這種做法融入設計中，並讓Piccolo自1953年開始成為了品牌至今一直持續生產的印花之一，並於多年間換上無數的色調，至今一共創作約2500種色彩組合。
